Challenges

For the summer peak-season campaign of its PC title 'Mabinogi', Nexon aimed to secure high-value PC users who would not only install the game but also actively play and convert into paying users. 

However, the web advertising market presented challenges, as UA (user acquisition) solutions were limited compared to mobile. To meet its goals, Nexon needed a new innovative partner who could drive additional performance in the PC web environment beyond mobile-driven UA outcomes.

Solution

Nexon selected Moloco as its partner to test the new channel beyond mobile. Having already validated Moloco Ads’ AI-powered optimization capabilities through mobile campaigns, Nexon expanded its efforts by adopting Moloco’s web campaigns.

Moloco recently extended its proven technology on Moloco Ads from mobile apps to mobile/PC web. This enabled Nexon to broaden its advertising scale, reach previously hard-to-access audiences, and achieve incremental performance. Nexon selected Moloco as a partner willing to innovate and experiment alongside them. Nexon had already seen success with Moloco Ads' AI-powered mobile campaigns, so the brand joined as an early adopter of Moloco's web campaigns, which is still in alpha phase.

1. Acquiring High-Value Users and Validating Performance of Moloco’s PC Web Campaigns

Through Moloco Ads’ PC web campaigns, Nexon leveraged the wide reach of major ad exchanges such as Google AdX and Kakao to effectively target new high-value users. Moloco’s AI-driven optimization algorithm precisely identified users with high conversion potential, maximizing campaign outcomes.

Nexon’s internal measurement metrics confirmed strong LTV and ROAS performance, demonstrating comparable results to mobile campaigns and proving Moloco Ads' PC web channel’s potential and scalability.

2. Enhanced Operational Efficiency with Expert Support and Self-Serve Dashboard

Moloco’s expert support and flexible operations also played a key role in the success of the Mabinogi PC campaign. From hands-on consultation and assistance from Moloco during the initial setup to the ability to make quick adjustments directly through the self-serve dashboard, Nexon was able to improve operational efficiency while driving results.

Results

Moloco’s web campaign capabilities enabled the success of Mabinogi's summer peak-season UA performance. By securing a pool of high-value users in the difficult to reach PC web environment Nexon achieved superior ROAS and cost efficiency compared to other media, confirming Moloco Ads as a new incremental growth channel beyond mobile.
